Doing My Own Thing.
I was very interested in expanding my business into more than just hair and nails. I wanted to try facials as well. My friends told me that my business would take off if I offered my work to come to them. She told me that if I offered a massage and a facial together I could make a killing. She told me that setting up appointments and going to their house would make it feel more comfortable for them. She told me that I would need to find a Folding Esthetician Facial Table that I could take with me to my appointments. I looked around to a few places to find one that was not too expensive. When I found one I was anxious to get started. I had to get some advertising going to drum up some business. I told a few people and received my first few clients through word of mouth. As I walked up to the door of my first customer I felt like there were butterflies doing the ho la dance in my stomach. I took a big deep breath and got up the courage to knock on the door. This customer wanted a ninety minute massage and a green tea facial. It was the most popular because it is said that it wakes up the skin and makes it look healthy and bright. I unfolded my table and got everything set up. Finally it was time to begin. The whole thing went very smoothly. I thought that ninety minutes would take forever, but she and I talked about our lives the whole time. The facial made her skin really have that healthy glow and when she saw it she booked me once a month for the rest of the year. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that when it came time for payment she paid me the two hundred and fifty dollar ate plus she gave me a one hundred dollar tip. If I pleased clients like this all of the time I could really make a go of this business. When I left the home I was doing the math in my head that I just made three hundred and fifty dollars in two hours. That is almost unfathomable to me. I was never expecting to make that much money to start with. I am glad that I decided to do it this way, because I can set my own hours.
